If there is one title that best suits Johan Santana since his arrival to Queens in 2008, it's "Hard-luck loser." The chart to my left further shows this.
Besides total wins, Johan is literally just as good as, if not better than Cy Young hopeful, Yankees ace C.C Sabathia.
C.C may have 19 more strikeouts than Santana, but Johan has actually drawn fewer walks (54 to C.C's 62) and has a lower WHIP (1.19 TO C.C's 1.22)
Keep in mind that 10 of Johan 65 earned runs were from one tragic inning in Philadephia. Just goes to show you what a little run support can do for a guy.
