David "bend it like" Beckham gets "bent over" by the fans

After being loaned over to A.C Milan, David Beckham finally made his triumphant return to MLS action only to be ridiculed by his once adoring fans...surprised?
Yes, Beckham is regarded as one of the most famous players to ever grace a soccer field..but honestly what did he expect?
Beckham was signed to a monster contract by the Galaxy in 2007 in hopes to boost American interest in soccer...but has he really changed the public's perception of the game?
Granted, it seems like a tall order for one man to complete such a task...but he really didn't make all that great of an attempt...
The American interest in soccer is just as noticable as it was when Beckham was still playing for Manchester United and as much as Beckham may deny it, I never felt that he ever had any interest in playing for the MLS in the first place. If he did, he quickly lost the desire to.
The fans, especially those that are members of the L.A Riot Squad, absolutely overreacted; however, they are entitled to their opinion and they feel like they have been let down.
I do not discourage David's love for playing in England (as well as his desire to represent his home country in the 2010 World Cup), but until then...if you want to avoid getting chewed up and spit out by the fans..I suggest you play your heart out and show that you want to actually be a member of the Los Angeles Galaxy..because even your teammates have lost faith in you...just ask Landon Donavan.
