RU? More like R..EWWW!

The mood going into yesterday's Rutgers/Cincinnati game was nothing short of euphoria...

With the addition of thousands of new student seats and a suspect Big East, expectations were that the sky was the limit for this football team...

By halftime, the sold-out crowd of 55,000 was dead silent and stunned in disbelief...

It took a mere half of football to end the Dom Natale era as the quarterback of the Scarlet Knights after 3 boneheaded interceptions...True freshman, Tom Savage, looked more than impressive in his lone half of action going 15-23 with 135 yrs passing to go along with a TD pass...this is clearly going to be his team from here on out, which is only a good thing as Savage will only get better with more experience...

Mohamad Sanu and Tim Brown showed me yesterday that they could be more than capable of filling the voids that Britt and Underwood left when leaving for the NFL last season..

The defense left very, very much to be desired as they gave up an inexcusable 564 yards of offense...over 8.1 yards per play...A mack truck could have been driven through the holes this D was leaving...

The quarterback for #23 Cincy, senior Tony Pike, simply toyed around with the Rutgers D as if they were puppets..throwing for a whopping 362 yards and 3 touchdown passes...

Now by no means am I saying that this season is over...they did start 1-5 last season...but it is awfully hard to give up 38 unanswered points and come back from that right away...

With their next 3 games against Howard, Florida International and Texas Southern, RU has not only a chance to put Savage in the spotlight..but also a chance to put yesterday's brutal loss behind them and put away 3 straight..
